Collector's Notes: After the inauguration ceremony in the morning it was time for the Inauguration Ball during the night. Everyone was eager to find out what Michelle Obama would be wearing and that time finally came. She wore a glamorous one shouldered creamy white dress that had incredible details on it. If you observe closely you can see that the details are really outstanding. The designer that she chose was Jason Wu which is a Taiwanese-American designer who is known for having flawless designs.

Collector's Notes: Henson says of Michelle, "She shouldn't let anyone push her into something she's not comfortable with. She has her own style."
Cassanda Spratling writes, "Henson's inaugural gown: A strapless aqua blue silk dress fitted from the bodice through the hips. Swarovski crystal beading adorns the dress diagonally from the high hip. The dress, which flares from the knees, includes a cropped swing jacket with a stand-up collar, abstract curved lines cut toward the front and deep roll-up three-quarter-length dolman sleeves"

Collector's Notes: Says the Michelle O Style blog:
New York designer Elie Tahari invited retail buyers to his showroom this past week to unveil his latest sartorial confection: a $598 purple-floral sheath that he has named "the Michelle dress," after Michelle Obama.
The 44-year-old future first lady's immediate influence on fashion "has nothing to do with fashion trends," says Mr. Tahari, who plans to put the dress in ads this spring and in stores in June. "Her style is all about the woman being noticed, not just the dress."

Collector's Notes: Wendy Donahue of the Chicago Tribune noted, "Purple and Pinto prove a winning pair yet again for Michelle Obama. On "60 Minutes" Sunday, Obama wore the "Eme" top and "Rani" skirt in an iris color, designed by Chicago's Maria Pinto. The ensemble is from Pinto's spring collection, but rendered in tweed for Obama, a loyal Pinto client. The sleeveless element was retained from the original design."
